Step 4: Ongoing Support Step 4 in the MEDI executive coaching process is focused on ongoing support and communication, with the ultimate goal of increasing leadership skills.
Following the two-day workshop, the coaches and executive routinely connect by phone based on a schedule designed by client and coach. During the call, MEDI coaches review the status of the executive's goals and tactics being used and discuss any other issues the executive may be facing. The coaches serve as a sounding board and provide authentic feedback to the executive. The coaching engagement includes a minimum of three additional one-day, off-site coaching sessions. During these meetings, the coaches and executive review the progress of the goals, work on specific behaviors related to the goals, and address other issues as needed.
When I was first introduced to the concept of an executive coach I was a little unsure how the process would help me take my leadership to the next level. After having an executive coach I can't imagine why I did not seek one years ago.
- Debbie Linnes, Past President and CEO St. John's Regional Health System
